TRADITIONAL ISLAND HOSPITALITY IN A UNIQUE SETTING
THE LODGE
Grimersta Lodge, built in 1861, stands on the shore of East Loch Roag — the Atlantic sea loch into which the Grimersta River flows. When fish are running, guests can watch shoals of salmon and grilse at the river mouth preparing to enter the system.
Accommodation
The lodge is fully staffed and offers traditional sporting hospitality, including early morning tea, breakfast, picnic lunches, afternoon tea and dinner. Our cellar holds a carefully chosen selection of wines and spirits.
TRADITIONAL SPORTING HOSPITALITY
Fishing parties are usually based on eight rods. For non-fishing guests, Lewis and Harris offer a wide range of activities and we are happy to advise.
There is no fishing on Sundays. After a later breakfast, guests often take the opportunity to tour the island before returning to the lodge for a traditional Sunday lunch.
Changeover day at Grimersta is Wednesday, with guests arriving in time for the change of beats at 6pm. With both outgoing and incoming parties present, the lodge is often full and the atmosphere particularly convivial.
